Economist James Richardson to Speak at LSUA Civic Club Fete

Dr. James Richardson, a private economist for the Louisiana Revenue Estimating Conference, will discuss “The State of the Louisiana Economy” at the annual area civic club luncheon hosted by LSU Alexandria on April 7 at noon in the Brumfield-Caffey Annex at the student center.

Richardson is the John Rhea Alumni Professor of Economics and director of the Public Administration Institute in the E.J. Ourso College of Business Administration at LSU. Richardson also serves on the boards of directors at the Public Affairs Research Council and the Council for a Better Louisiana. He has worked as a forecaster for the Louisiana Revenue Estimating Conference since 1987 and has supervised studies on various aspects of the state’s budget.

“Dr. Richardson is an especially appropriate keynote speaker for this event,” said Dr. David Manuel, LSUA chancellor. “His insight on the economic environment in Louisiana will make for a very interesting, relevant presentation.”

Local civic clubs should make reservations with Mary McCampbell in the LSUA Office of Institutional Advancement at 619-2917 or Space is limited, and reservations are suggested by April 1. The cost is $13.50 per person, payable by the attendee’s club.

The luncheon will be catered by Panaroma Foods.
