'March Back 2 College' Events Scheduled for Adults

Released: 02/22/2011

LSU Alexandria will sponsor five “March Back 2 College” events in Central Louisiana for adults who want to return to or start college, announced Shelly Kieffer, director of admissions and recruiting.

“We will answer questions about the admission process, college credit already earned, financial aid, and areas of study at LSUA,” Kieffer said. “There won’t be a formal program. Participants are welcome to come and go at their convenience. The purpose is to make it as simple as possible to re-enroll at LSUA.”

The first session is March 5 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Bayou Brew on Highway 28 East in Pineville. The public library in Ville Platte will host the event on March 12 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Representatives from LSUA will be in Marksville in the Paragon Casino Hotel lobby on March 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and a meeting will be held in Alexandria on March 24 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Tipitina’s Coop on Desoto Street.

The last session on March 31 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will include representatives from each academic department. It will be held on the LSUA campus in the Brumfield-Caffey Annex at the student center.

More than 45 percent of LSUA students exceed 24 years old.
