Storyteller Sylvia Davis to Speak at Black History Month Event

Sylvia Davis, a popular weaver of African and African-American folk tales, will speak at noon Wednesday (Feb. 16) in the cafeteria foyer of the LSU Alexandria student center, announced Kyra Turner, coordinator of student life. Her presentation, which is free and open to the public, is part of the university’s Black History Month programming.

Davis, an assistant principal at Pineville High School whose academic background is speech and drama, frequently speaks at library, school board and cultural events around the state.
