Toys Sought for LSUA Police Christmas Toy Drive

Released: 12/02/2010

The LSU Alexandria Police Department is collecting toys for its third annual Christmas toy drive, announced Capt. Ray Hamilton, police director. Toys for girls and boys up to 10 years old are sought. A limit of approximately $10 per toy is suggested.

The toys will be distributed by LSUA uniformed police officers to area disadvantaged children, children in local hospitals, and children at the Louisiana Special Education Center and St. Mary’s Training School.

The drop-off point for toy donations is the LSUA Police Office in Room 144 of Chambers Hall. Wrapping paper, ribbon and bows also will be accepted. Hamilton said LSUA police officers will pick up toys off campus if groups want to participate.

A “wrapping party” will be held at 9 a.m. on Dec. 22 at the campus police office. Volunteers are welcome. The toys will be distributed later that day.
