Student Nurses' Association Selected Student Organization of the Year

The Student Nurses’ Association at LSU Alexandria has been selected Student Organization of the Year, announced Renisha Beaudion, student life coordinator. That group, which represents the largest academic major at LSUA and whose faculty sponsor is assistant professor of nursing Alicia Book, was honored for campus and community involvement.

The Student Nurses’ Association organized health fairs, conducted health-related seminars, raised funds for professional conferences, and participated in community health awareness and fundraising projects.

Natalie North, a junior mass communications student from Alexandria, received the Outstanding Student Leader Award for her work with Sigma Kappa Sigma sorority. Sheila Hudson, an enrollment management officer and advisor for Theta Sigma sorority, was selected Outstanding Faculty/Staff Advisor.

Six student organizations were honored for significant service work. They are Baptist Collegiate Ministry, Catholic Student Organization, Gamma Beta Phi (honors program), Gamma Lambda Tau (clinical laboratory technology), Sigma Kappa Sigma and Theta Sigma.
