Applications Now Accepted for The Oaks Housing Scholarships

Applications for $1,100 housing scholarships for the fall semester at LSU Alexandria are being accepted, announced Angela Rollins, manager of The Oaks residence hall complex. The scholarship, which is applicable to a four-bedroom apartment, covers nearly half the rental cost for the first semester.

Scholarships are available to first-time residents of The Oaks. Eligibility requires a minimum 2.5 grade point average in high school for entering freshmen or a 2.5 GPA for students already in college.

Students receiving the housing scholarship will pay only $1,265 for the fall semester. The price includes utilities, cable television, Internet, sanitation services, security, laundry facilities, computer lab, tutoring, recreational facilities and on-site management. All apartments in the three-year-old on-campus complex are fully furnished with complete kitchen.

“This introductory offer is limited to 11 units or 44 beds,” said Rollins. “Students interested in the housing scholarship should apply as quickly as possible.”

The Oaks, which contains 252 beds, also features one- and two-bedroom units, which are not part of the housing scholarship.
