Open House for High School Students, Parents Set Tuesday

Released: 02/17/2010

High school juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to an LSU Alexandria open house Tuesday (Feb. 23), announced Shelly Kieffer, director of recruiting and admissions. The cost per student is $10, which includes lunch and a T-shirt. There is no charge for parents, and all participants may attend the Generals baseball game against Wiley College as guests of LSUA. The open house will be held from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. starting in the Fitness Center at the rear of the campus.

Kieffer said the open house “is one of the best ways to learn about the suitability of LSUA as a higher education option.” Representatives from academic departments will discuss areas of study and career planning, and admissions requirements will be explained. Financial aid and student services options will be presented, and there will be tours of the campus.

Kieffer said the open house will carry a “birthday party theme in keeping with the university’s 50th anniversary this year.”

Preregistration is encouraged, but walk-up registration is available. Additional information may be obtained at 888-473-6417 and admissions@lsua.edu.
