Allied Health to Present Heart Health Forum Feb. 11

The Department of Allied Health at LSU Alexandria will present a free heart health public forum Feb. 11 at 2 p.m., announced Sheryl Herring, associate professor and clinical laboratory technician program coordinator. Dr. Stephen Norman, a pathologist, will be featured speaker in the A.C. Buchanan Allied Health Building at 807 Jackson St. in Alexandria.

Seating is limited, and reservations are suggested by calling 487-5504. This is the first of four public health seminars planned by the Department of Allied Health at LSUA this year.

Norman will discuss heart disease prevention and treatment. Attendees can also participate in free blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol screening and body mass indexing, and cardiac radiographic (X-ray) information will be available.

Herring said the program is open to all ages. Gift bags will be presented, and light refreshments will be served.
