Peter Villegas to Perform Native American Flute Concert

Peter Villegas, an accomplished Native American-style flute musician, will perform Monday (Oct. 26) at LSU Alexandria. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be at 11 a.m. in Room 140 of Chambers Hall.

Villegas, who is of Yaqui Apache and Mexican descent, will combine music and storytelling to “remind us that life if full of simple joys.” Villegas, who lives in Kinder, is an active member of the International Native American Flute Assn.

The presentation is a supplement to a Native American literature class taught by Marija Knezevic, a Fulbright Scholar from Montenegro teaching at LSUA this semester.
