LSUA United Way Campaign Underway

Released: 10/15/2009

LSU Alexandria has kicked off its annual United Way giving campaign with “a goal of 100 percent participation,” announced campus chairwomen Dr. Susan Sullivan, assistant professor of biology, and university accountant Lisa Smith. Pledges will be accepted through Oct. 23.

“United with the Community” is the theme of the LSUA campaign. “It’s an appropriate theme given the symbiotic relationship that LSUA and Central Louisiana enjoy. We are very pleased to support United Way and help the worthy organizations that provide quality-of-life services in our community,” Sullivan said.

The campus campaign includes a quilt raffle and drawing for LSU football tickets.

LSUA was in the Top 25 Employee Giving category last year and also was recognized for increasing its contribution by more than 25 percent from the previous year.

Dr. Callum Johnston, associate professor of early childhood education, and professional advisor Robert Tillie will be co-chairmen of next year’s campaign.
