LSUA Continuing Education Moves to Business Incubator

Released: 08/04/2009

The Office of Continuing Education at LSU Alexandria has moved to the Central Louisiana Business Incubator, announced Cathy Andries, director of continuing education.

“The majority of our classes will be offered at our new facility. We think this better serves the business community in particular and the public in general,” Andries said. “Access to our continuing education programs will be much more convenient, and it allows additional flexibility in scheduling events around the business day.” Andries said a series of professional development luncheon seminars would be presented at the new location.

Andries said site-specific classes, such as water aerobics, would still be offered at LSUA. On-site training appropriate to individual applications in the community also will remain available.

The new facility, which is located at 1501-A Wimbledon Dr. in Alexandria, consists of two classrooms, a computer laboratory, multi-purpose meeting room and administrative offices. Continuing education was previously headquartered at the Bo Nipper Technology Center on campus.

LSUA continuing education classes for the fall semester will begin after Labor Day. Upwards of 50 classes are offered in the areas of professional and workforce development, computers and technology, personal enrichment, exam preparation and certification, and health and wellness.
