Texada, Procell Earn Chancellor's Awards at LSUA Graduation

LSU at Alexandria conferred degrees on 158 graduates at spring graduation, highlighted by presentation of the Chancellor’s Award to Courtney Texada of Alexandria and Brandy Nicole Procell of Lena for highest grade point average accumulated by baccalaureate and associate degree graduates.

Texada earned a bachelor of liberal studies degree in English, and Procell was awarded an associate of science in nursing.

Summa cum laude graduates, a designation reserved for students with a minimum 3.9 average, were Texada and Brittany Cole of Deville, who completed a bachelor of science in business administration degree.

Magna cum laude graduates, which requires a minimum 3.75 average, were Vernon Blood of St. Landry, bachelor of arts in history; Elise Kelone of Bunkie, bachelor of science in psychology; Leland McCullough IV of Alexandria, bachelor of liberal studies in English; Saana Virden of Pollock, bachelor of arts in communication studies; and Samantha Weis of Deville, bachelor of science in business administration.
