Vendors Sought for LSUA Renaissance Festival

Released: 03/20/2009

Vendors for the annual Renaissance Festival at LSU at Alexandria are invited to reserve booth space by April 10. There is no charge for food and arts-and-crafts vendors, but booth space will assigned on a first-come first-served basis for the April 24-25 festival.

Vendors should contact Tammy Monk at 619-2913 or tmonk@lsua.edu for reservations or additional information. A vendor registration form is available on the university’s home page at www.lsua.edu.

An annual event since 2001, the Renaissance Festival recreates the sights and sounds of Elizabethan England, a time when artistic and cultural life blossomed. The centerpiece of the festival is a nightly performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” considered one of William Shakespeare’s greatest comedies.

The festival also features musicians, choral groups, actors and dancers, including The Daughters of Scheherazade belly dancing troupe. Games and contests of the period and historical re-enactments will be presented. The festival is free to the public.
