Continuing Education Offers Online Professional Training

Released: 03/11/2009

The Office of Continuing Education at LSU at Alexandria is making available a new online program for businesses to provide professional training to their employees, announced program specialist Shere’ Thaxton. Hundreds of online, instructor-facilitated employee training courses are offered through a partnership with ed2go, which has provided professional development classes to more than a million people.

New sessions of each six-week course begin every month. “These high-quality courses are entirely Internet-based with comprehensive lessons, assignments and quizzes applicable to almost every employer or employee need,” Thaxton said. “Professional instructors answer questions, facilitate discussions and pace each learner.”

The Office of Continuing Education and ed2go host the entire program, which eliminates the need for employers to purchase, integrate, or administer the technology. “We understand the requirements of employers and learners, and we’re confident that this program provides accessible, affordable and effective employee training,” Thaxton said.

A catalog of courses and additional information are available from the Office of Continuing Education at 473-6495 or www.ce.lsua.edu.
