LSUA Open House for Prospective Students Set for March 10

Released: 02/26/2009

LSU at Alexandria will hold open house for prospective students and their parents March 10, announced Sheila Hudson, admissions counselor and event coordinator. The day is reserved for high school juniors and seniors to learn more about LSUA.

March 3 is the reservation deadline. A $10 registration fee includes lunch and a T-shirt. Parents are admitted free. Registration is available online at or at the Office of Admissions in Abrams Hall on campus.

The open house begins in the Fitness Center at the rear of the campus at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m. Prospective students will discuss educational programs with faculty from each academic department, become acquainted with enrollment requirements, scholarships and financial aid options, learn about student life and The Oaks apartments, and tour the campus.

Parents will become familiar with the admissions process, financial aid opportunities and the Early Start program, which allows high school students to earn college credit.

“Participating in open house is an efficient way of gaining valuable knowledge about the educational opportunities at LSUA. It’s time well spent, and every question will be answered,” Hudson said.

Additional information is available from the Office of Admissions, 473-6417.
