RN-to-BSN Registration Begins Nov. 24

Nurses entering the LSU at Alexandria RN-to-BSN program in the spring semester can start on-line registration Nov. 24, announced Dr. Robbie Dugas, program coordinator. The registration website address is

New students and those not currently enrolled at LSUA must apply for admission. Applications may be downloaded from the website, and they are available in the Office of Admissions at Abrams Hall weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students who meet the priority application deadline of Dec. 1 will eliminate much of the walk-up registration process on Jan. 7-8. Classes begin Jan. 12, which is also the date for BSN student orientation at 2 p.m.

The newly approved RN-to-BSN program is for associate degree nurses who are accredited by the National League for Nursing. An additional 45 college credit hours, divided between nursing lecture and practicum, are typically required to earn a bachelor of science in nursing degree. Dugas said the LSUA program takes into consideration the schedules of working nurses through flexible scheduling, individualized clinical experiences, and a combination of campus and on-line courses.
