LSUA Increases Contribution to United Way

Released: 11/03/2008

LSU at Alexandria increased its contribution to the United Way of Central Louisiana campaign by 43 percent this year to a record $11,296, according to United Way officials.

“This clearly demonstrates the support and caring of LSUA employees for their community even in a difficult economy,” said Dr. Susan Sullivan, associate professor of biology and co-manager of the university’s campaign. “Our goal is 100 percent participation, and we hope this is the start of ever-increasing involvement and even greater levels of giving.”

Lisa Smith, an accountant in the Office of Finance and Administrative Services, also was campaign co-manager. “We didn’t achieve 100 percent participation, but the percentage of donors increased nicely. We’re proud of our employees for their generosity,” she said.

Contributions were made by 105 LSUA employees.
