Open House for Prospective Students and Parents

Released: 10/09/2008

“Spend the Day at LSUA,” an open house for prospective students and their parents, will be held at LSU at Alexandria on Nov. 25. The event is designed for high school juniors and seniors.

Student participants will attend an LSUA class, meet with academic departments to discuss college and career plans, tour campus housing, learn about the admissions process, and get information on the new Honors Program. Parents will be provided details on financial aid and scholarships, student services, campus security, and other subjects involved in selecting a university.

“We’ve scheduled this event for maximum accessibility during the Thanksgiving holiday for high schools, and it’s one of the best ways prospective students can learn about LSUA,” said Shelly Keiffer, assistant director for recruiting and outreach. “We also strongly encourage parents to attend because they come away with a great deal of helpful information.”

The cost is $10 per student, which includes a T-shirt and lunch. Parents attend free. “Spend the Day at LSUA” begins at 8 a.m. in the Fitness Center building and concludes at 2:30 p.m.

Pre-registration is required by Nov. 19. Additional information is available from the Office of Enrollment Management, 473-3974 or 473-6423.
