LSUA Appoints New Faculty

LSU at Alexandria has appointed 11 new faculty members for the 2008-09 academic year, announced Dr. Tom Armstrong, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs.

Four of the appointees are teaching in the Department of Arts, English and Humanities. They are Shirley Simpson, assistant professor of communication studies; Geoff Clegg, instructor of English; Catherine Pears, visiting instructor of theatre; and Karin Lee, visiting instructor of communications.

Dr. Robbie Dugas and Alicia Book are new assistant professors in the Department of Nursing. Dugas will coordinate implementation of the university’s baccalaureate degree in nursing, and Book joins the full-time faculty after serving as an adjunct instructor.

Dr. Kenneth Sanders has returned to LSUA as associate professor of economics in the Department of Business Administration after teaching at Eastern New Mexico University, and Jennifer Taylor is assistant professor of criminal justice in the same department.

Dr. Arlene Duos was appointed programs coordinator in the Department of Education. Dr. Lee Kneipp, formerly a member of the Northwestern State University faculty, is associate professor of psychology in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences, and Tanya Lueder is instructor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Physical Sciences.
