2003 MS. LSU Alexandria Pageant

<p> The forty-third annual Ms. LSU Alexandria Pageant, "All That Jazz," will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex. The public is invited to attend this event where nine ladies will compete for a Chancellor&acute;s Scholarship worth $1000 and the opportunity to represent LSU Alexandria for the 2003-2004 school year. Tickets for the event are $5 and can be purchased at the LSU Alexandria Accounting Office or at the door the night of the event. <p></p> The contestants are Dana Atwood, Jennifer Baudoin, Donna Cheek, Kendall Cox, Leigh Davis, Kimberly Humphrey, Misty Palmer, Stephanie "Shy" Rudisill and Bridget Soileau. <p></p>

Dana Atwood of Pineville is an elementary education major whose platform topic is "Family Relationships." <p></p>

Jennifer Baudoin is also an elementary education major who lives in Pineville. Her platform topic is "Schizencephaly: A Rare Developmental Disorder." <p></p>

Donna Cheek of Pineville is majoring in nursing. "The T.E.A.M. Approach: Students Mentoring Students" is her platform topic. <p></p>

Kendall Cox is an elementary education major from Alexandria whose platform topic is "Underage Drinking and the Preventions." <p></p>

Leigh Davis of Alexandria is majoring in criminal justice. Her platform topic is "Truancy: A Gateway to Crime." <p></p>

Kimberly Humphrey is a public relations major from Alexandria whose platform topic is "Continuing the Positive Influence of the Mass Media in Children&acute;s Lives." <p></p>

Misty Palmer of Alexandria is an elementary education major. Her platform topic is "Early Intervention for Children with Special Needs." <p></p>

Stephanie "Shy" Rudisill of Glenmora is a broadcast journalism major. Her platform topic is "Physical Fitness and Wellness." <p></p>

Bridget Soileau is a criminal justice major from Marksville. "Awareness of Child Sexual Abuse" is her platform topic. <p></p>

The Ms. LSU Alexandria pageant is open to all female LSU Alexandria students regardless of age or marital status. The pageant will include casual wear and evening wear competitions. An interview session by the judges will be held prior to the event. A People&acute;s Choice Award, Ms. Congeniality, and First and Second Runners-Up will be awarded, followed by the crowning of Ms. LSU Alexandria 2003 by Addie Thompson, 2002 Ms. LSU Alexandria. <p></p>

Mrs. Melissa C. LaBorde, director of Institutional Advancement at LSU Alexandria, will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening. Entertainment will be provided by the Louisiana College "Louisianians" and Jacey Cornell. <p></p>
