Nursing Graduates "Pinned"

Forty-eight nursing graduates from LSU at Alexandria received their commemorative graduation pins in the annual “pinning” ceremony Wednesday. More than half of LSUA’s graduates over the nearly 50-year history of the university have earned associate degrees in nursing.

The latest nursing graduates from Alexandria are Jennifer Alford, Melissa Benoit, Wayne Carr, Elizabeth Frazier, Angela Hardin, Jason Hollis and Lisa Pennington. Graduates from Pineville are Kimberly Coodie, Frances Crawford, Ashley Kelone, Brandi Nichols, Lisa Simpson, Rebecca Smith, Amanda Trevino and Sarah Turner.

Other nursing graduates from Rapides Parish are Robin Brady, Forest Hill; Courtney Goudeau, Tioga; Ean Parker, Boyce; and Derrick Perdue, Lena. Graduates from surrounding parishes include Angella Bordelon, Joshua Manuel, Billi Matte, Jacob Ortego, Robert Soileau, Jason Vidrine and Leah Young, all of Ville Platte; Amanda Granger, Chad Grantham, and Melissa Nugent, all of Pollock; and Robert Doyle and Rosetta Williams, both of Oakdale.

Also, Candice Adams, Downsville; Kelly Ardoin, Reddell; Stephanie Boone, Fort Polk; Ernest Corner, Cottonport; Joni Dupont, Melville; Kelli Elliott, Trout; Thomas Greer, Jena; Mary Hebert, Lafayette; Lauren Miller, Marksville; Dream Riviere, Mansura; Cheyenne Rogers, Lettsworth; Kristy Romar, Opelousas; Lacey Russell, Georgetown; Regina Smith, Columbia; Amie Starks, Simmesport; Kelli Weber, Moreauville; and Brandy Wiley, Centerpoint.

The LSUA nursing graduates will earn registered nurse status upon passing the Louisiana State Board of Nursing Examination. Over the past nine testing periods 95.5 percent of LSUA nursing graduates have passed the exam on the first attempt.
