Ms. LSUA 2008 Crowned

Alonna LaTrice Richard, a freshman nursing major from Mamou, has been crowned Ms. LSU at Alexandria for 2008 at the 48th annual Ms. LSUA Pageant. She earned a $1,000 scholarship and will represent the university at various functions during the 2008-09 school year, announced pageant director Kathy Wimmert.

First runner-up Britni Danielle Campbell, a freshman communication studies major from Lecompte, will receive a $500 scholarship. She was the People's Choice Award winner.

Second runner-up Amy D'Lee Theriot, a junior nursing major from Centerpoint, earned Ms. Photogenic, Scholastic Achievement and Top Ad Sales honors.

Erica Anne Shipp, a senior psychology major from Alexandria, captured Ms. Congeniality, and Kayla Ann Ducote, a freshman biology major from Bunkie, took the Director's Award.

The Ms. LSUA contest is open to all female students regardless of age or marital status. Contestants participated in interview, platform topic, casual wear and formal wear categories. The outgoing Ms. LSUA is Brandi Katrina Roberts, a junior elementary education major from Lecompte.
