"Hamlet" Auditions Set

Auditions for "Hamlet," presented by the Empty Space Players from LSU at Alexandria, will be March 2-3, announced director and associate professor of theatre and communication studies Richard Gwartney. Auditions will be at 6 p.m. at the Alexandria Museum of Art both days and at noon in Room 140 at Chambers Hall on campus March 3.

Gwartney said 20 male and three female roles will be cast. Those who audition should prepare a brief Shakespearean monologue, and there also will be cold readings from a script. Auditions are open to anyone.

"Hamlet" will be performed April 16-19 as part of LSUA's ninth annual Shakespeare on the Greene Festival. For additional information contact the Department of Arts, English and Humanities at 473-6581.
