Financial Aid Seminar (College Goal Sunday)

Released: 02/06/2008

College-bound students and their parents are invited to a free financial aid seminar Sunday (Feb. 10) at 2 p.m. at The Oaks apartment clubhouse on the LSU at Alexandria campus. Dubbed "College Goal Sunday," the seminar will walk participants through the sometimes-complicated FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) process, which is required to apply for student grants and loans.

The seminar is open to students regardless of where they intend to go to college, and the winner of the randomly drawn $400 "door prize" scholarship may use it at any accredited institution.

Nearly a dozen financial aid consultants from LSUA will be present to assist participants. College Goal Sunday is funded by a Lumina Foundation Grant and administered by the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA). Additional information may be obtained by calling the Office of Enrollment Management at LSUA, 473-6423.
