Art Scholarship Competition

Released: 02/06/2008

A scholarship to LSU at Alexandria will be awarded Friday (Feb. 8) to the winning high school art student at the Chancellor's Scholarship Art Show, announced Roy deVille, professor of fine arts and director of the University Art Gallery. The art show and reception will be held in the gallery adjacent to the bookstore from 6-8 p.m.

Approximately 40 students are expected to compete in the second annual art scholarship competition. Entries in all media are accepted. The winner will be announced at the end of the show, and the public is invited.

"There is significant art talent in Central Louisiana among students," said deVille. "This competition is part of LSUA's effort to enroll new art majors and support the creative process."
