Fingerprinting for Nursing Students

Fingerprinting required by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing for nursing students will be done Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the lobby of Coughlin Hall at LSU at Alexandria.

LSUA students applying for Nursing 1014 (fundamentals) and/or Nursing 1018 (LPN transition course) in the fall semester are required to be fingerprinted as part of a state-mandated background check.

Students applying for Nursing 1014 must bring money orders of $45.25 payable to the Department of Public Safety and $20 payable to LSBN, and a driver's license or other ID.

Students applying for Nursing 1018 must provide verification of a current LPN license, evidence of IV certification, evidence of current American Heart Assn. CPR Health Care Provider course completion, and validation of minimum of one-year employment as an LPN prior to the date of application. The money orders and ID also are required.
