LSU Alexandria Homecoming Week August 13-17

To celebrate all the exciting changes at LSUA, the LSUA Foundation is sponsoring Homecoming Week August 13-17.

The public is invited to tour the first-ever on-campus apartment complex, the newly renovated Science Building, the new Red River Pub and Grub Restaurant in the golf course clubhouse and the Children’s Center.

Several of the week’s events are open to the public including the LSUA Night at the Aces baseball game, a Support LSUA! Community-Wide Dinner and a number of public campus tours.

On Monday, Aug. 13, LSUA will host its annual Night at the Aces. Join the LSUA family as Dr. Robert Cavanaugh throws the first pitch! Gates open at 6 p.m. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. General admission tickets are $4. Reserved tickets are $6. Children ages 6-12 get in for $3. Children age five and under enter the game free.

On Tuesday, August 14 at 12 p.m., various Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs from the surrounding ten-parish region will be meeting for the first-ever combined Civic Club Lunch on the LSUA Campus. All civic clubs are welcome to attend and can make arrangements by calling 473-6472.

Support LSUA! is a community-wide dinner hosted by the Alumni and Friends Association and the LSUA Foundation. The dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex on the LSUA campus. Visit with LSUA supporters, alumni and friends, colleagues, faculty, staff and retirees and to wish Cavanaugh the best on his retirement. The dinner is open to the public at a cost of $20 per person.

The inaugural Nursing Alumni Meeting will be held Thursday, August 16 at 6 p.m. in Coughlin Hall on the LSUA campus.

Thursday, Aug. 16-Sunday, Aug. 19, LSUA’s Empty Space Players will present “Assassins,” a musical by award-winning director Stephen Sondheim. Dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Kress Theatre in The Rapides Foundation building downtown. Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m. Theatre and dinner tickets are $25. Theatre only tickets are $10. Morning and afternoon campus tours will be available Wednesday, Aug. 15 through Friday, Aug. 17 at 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
